Light Up Downtown kicks off the holiday season in our awesome Downtown Eugene! Join family and friends on the East Park Block for our festive, fun and inclusive third annual Light Up Downtown tree lighting event. ASL interpretation provided.
Mistress of Ceremonies Facisha Farce, the 44th Empress of the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Emerald Empire will preside over the event, with many special guests, including Mayor Lucy Vinis, the University of Oregon Duck and Slug Queen Santa Frida Elisa Refugio Babaosia.
Come join in as guest artists from the Sheldon High School Dublinaires, Ridgeline Ukulele Extravaganza and Eugene Concert Choir play songs as we light up the Park Blocks. There will also be interfaith guests offering a Sufi chant, leading a Zen Buddhist meditation and Temple Beth Israel presenting a Hebrew song.
There will be the usual free hot apple cider and popcorn, and The Dumpling Group food cart will be there as well. Thinking Tree Spirits - A Eugene Distillery will be offering small cocktails.
There will also be a benefit for Egan Warming Centers, so bring socks and sweat pants and other warm clothes to support those that may be in need this holiday season.
