Part of our Fall Nutritious Movement Workshop Series
Course 1 of 3
Did you know that tightness and tension in your feet and lower legs can cause pain and stiffness in other parts of your body, as far away as your neck? We often wear shoes that restrict full ranges of motion in the feet and toes, and spend the majority of our time walking on artificially flat ground. When this happens, our feet lose their natural strength and suppleness, causing aches and pains that can affect other parts of the body as well. This class focuses on unraveling that tension in our feet, ankles, and lower legs to increase blood flow, allow greater mobility, and build strength so we can walk, run, and move pain-free.

Course 2 of 3: Loosen Your Hips Thursday Nov. 1st 6-7:30pm
This class focuses on stretching and strengthening the muscles in the pelvic region. Frequent sitting in chairs and cars can lead to chronically shortened muscles in the hips, legs, and lower back, putting strain on the knees, pelvic floor, and lumbar spine (as well as other places in the body!). In this class we will find greater length through the muscles of the upper legs, hips, and lower back, as well as learn exercises to strengthen weak areas. As a result, you will find yourself in better alignment, with increased ranges of motion, and reduced tension in sore areas.
Course 3 of 3: Stretch & Strengthen Your Arms and Shoulders Tuesday Nov 13th 6-7:30pm
We use our arms for so many things - lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, pressing, hanging, and more. It makes sense that we need our arms to be strong, but we also need them to be loose and mobile so we don't create injuries by doing any of these movements. However, the body positions we use most often while driving cars and working on computers and phones can lead to chronic tension in these areas. In this class we will work on creating space in the shoulders, necks, wrists, and hands, as well as strengthening the muscles of the shoulders and upper back for increased stabilization. By addressing tightness and building strength in these areas, we become more able to access the full strength of our arms without having to worry about injury.
